Changes are coming…again

I attended the Professional Writers Conference at Taylor University on July 24-25. This is a smaller writers conference, with less than a hundred attendees. I attended last year’s conference, gained some good info, so I thought I’d go again this year. (Besides, it’s not very expensive.)  One of the sessions was writing with AI (as a brainstorming tool, not actually writing a story).

I’ve been running into issues with posting on socials, working through advertising, promos, and the time-sink called eBay, which pays for my writing for the time being. I’m hoping the book sales will pick up so that I can cut back on eBay and spend more time on writing. Until then, I need a way to be more efficient with socials, posts and increase the SEO of my website to draw more readers in.

To that end, I’ve delved into the world of ChatGPT to assist with ideas for posts, socials and, especially, SEO for this site. Since this is AI assisting with some of the things I’d do, I’m not stealing away from any other artists out there. I shouldn’t have been surprised, but it had a lot to say…pages worth of ideas and a plan. These blog posts/updates may be changing significantly.

What else is going on

Along with the above to draw in readers, I am planning to create a serial to post on my site tentatively called The Traveller’s Journal. This will be a new story broken down into roughly 500-word episodes. The plan is to post a new episode to the story every two weeks until the full story is complete. Then, start another. The hope is to keep you on my readers’ list enchanted and involved in between books.

I’m also considering two new short stories which will be reader magnets and prequels to both The Accident and Canthany Rising. Stay tuned for more.

Writing Progress Report

The next Eric D’Tra’val story, formerly known as Prodigy, is now called The Prodigy and The Telepath. It’s currently with my developmental editor and I hope to have it ready for publication sometime in October. I’ll have book cover teasers and book trailers on Instagram and Facebook soon.

The next Canthany book is in the works! Tentatively titled Orders of Canthany, Orders follows T’alla on her next grand adventure as she and two of her children head to Seven Nations Island to join the newly formed Orders. However, many surprises greet them when they land on Seven Nations Island. The island is overgrown, Traveller and Kyrie are missing, and goblins have overrun the island! What was supposed to be a simple excursion turns into a quest for answers.
