Release Day!

The Accident has been released on Amazon! The eBook and a paperback version are available for purchase. HOWEVER, both versions will be available on my site…as soon as I can figure out how to do it and/or Jones House Creative can make the changes. The plan is for the eBook to be FREE (Figuring out how to do this) and the paperback version to be a couple dollars less than Amazon. Why?

Part of the whole Author platform idea is to gain “followers” on my site to show potential publishers I mean business and have a built-in set of people willing to purchase my writing. Also, if you do read The Accident, in whichever form, please post a review on Amazon.

What else is going on?

I have been posting videos on Instagram and Facebook every Tuesday morning. I was really hoping I could just post on Instagram and have it automatically post on Facebook, but the connection isn’t working as I hoped. Apparently, my techie skills have atrophied over the years and following directions isn’t enough. For now, I’ll be posting directly on both platforms until I can get it figured out. No biggie.

I have plans for posting artwork to Pinterest. Why? Another source for pulling people to my site, of course. One of the sessions at the ACFW conference talked about the benefits of Pinterest, so I thought I’d add it to the list. The idea is to post a new artwork daily with links to my site. This will take more time, but I hope it will be worth it. I will be using Midjourney and/or Deviant Art to generate the artwork. Yes, I have recanted my use of regular artists for this endeavor. The costs would be prohibitive.

In order to save some time, I have signed up for a masterclass on AI automation. The pre-conference class I took at ACFW started the process for AI automation and this will expand on what I learned at ACFW. The class showed how to have AI “act” like me and generate posts for Facebook. It was fascinating how some of the sample posts sounded. However, I want to automate the videos and artwork posts so I can just key them into a database, and they just post when I want them to (like when I’m still asleep in the morning).

Writing Progress Report

Now that The Accident is complete, what’s next? At the moment, nothing. I have a few thoughts, though. One, there is a novelette-length story in the Canthany world to resurrect and complete. Two, write the origin story for Canthany. Three, begin the process for the second novel for Paladin. I doubt I’ll work on any of the three this month. Hopefully, next month I’ll have better news.
