New Site, Two Conferences, All Chaos!

New Website

If you’re reading this, then you’ve seen the new website. Isn’t it fantastic? Great new graphics, new pages, new ideas, a forum for you to talk to me and me to you. It’s not complete-complete, but it has everything from the previous site. I’m still learning all the ins and outs about the new digs along with a new way to email everyone using MailerLite. Also, you may have seen the new sign up for the first two chapters of The Accident.

The Accident is listed as a 20K word novella in the same world as The Paladin Awakens. It may actually be more like 17K words and qualify as a novelette instead. Either way, the plan is to offer the entire story free instead of just the first two chapters. This will be in electronic form. Once I’m able to complete it, critique it and run it through a developmental editor, I will offer a printed form using print-on-demand technology. I hope to have it ready by the end of the year.

Conferences

As you’ll recall, I told you about the Realm Makers conference in Grand Rapids, MI on July 18-20. (If I didn’t, sorry, but I did go.) At that conference, I ran into author PeggySue Wells. She told me about another conference on July 25-26 at Taylor University in Upland, IN. After looking it over, I decided to go for it. Now, I have two sets of conference sessions to review and apply to my writing, marketing, website, etc. etc. etc. I will probably be a couple weeks just trying to process all the information and review videos of sessions I missed or rewatch ones I attended.

I had intended to show pictures of people I met at the Realm Makers conference, but I’m already running out of time just trying to get this newsletter put together. I still want to do this, so I may have some mid-month posts this time around.

All Chaos!

Yep, that’s what I’m feeling right now. There are so many things to process while trying to finish up The Accident rough draft and figure out what other content I want/need for the site, I’m quite overwhelmed. I will get there, it will just take more time than I hoped it would be. LOL! Until next time…

Website Update

I hope you are enjoying the new website! In the coming weeks/months, holes will be filled (especially in the Canthany realm) and new content will be added. I plan on using the forum to allow for discussion about content to take place.

The Accident Progress Report

I’m moving right along with rewriting The Accident. Chapters seven and eight are in my critiquer’s hands right now. I was expecting to complete the story with chapter nine and epilogue this week, but I don’t think that will happen. The chapter will be a new ending to the story because the old ending just wouldn’t fit anymore with the changes I’ve made leading up to it. I’m confident the rough draft and critique process will be complete in August and I’ll release the story to everyone to read and comment on.
